New Cars: Scions xB and xD

Scion has just released official pictures of two of its new models: the boxy xB (silver) and the more-rounded xD (red). Not quite sure where they fall in Scion's lineup relative to each other, but I am guessing the xD is the larger, more young-family oriented.

I like the xB. I don't quite know why, but its quirky design just rubs me the right way. Despite being young myself I am not even close to Scion's key demographic, but I can see how others would like to buy this car and personalize it until they have something totally unique (and not a cent left in their wallet). After all, that's part of the success of the MINI, and now FIAT is banking on people wanting to do the same with their 500 as well.

The xD, on the other hand, is a bit "blah" the same way the xC is. Not totally different to the xB, it borrows its wide C-pillar and chunky bumpers, but its still a normal looking car underneath. But as it's usually the case with Scions, it only becomes really appealing once you bolt on large shiny rims onto it.
