Decided to post these drawings despite the fact that they seem to be a pure flight-of-fancy. It's clear that if VW decides to make the Gen III Beetle it'll have to be very different to today's all-style-and-no-substance model, but it's unclear what it'll be. These drawings are interesting in that they envision the Beetle going the mini-TT route, which is unlikely to happen given the Scirocco has been green-lit. Still, it would be fascinating to see that happen, although I still think that VW should down-scale the Beetle to MINI proportions in order to capture more of the chic urban market, and not try to lure people out of their Golfs.[source: thehollywoodextra]
