I know give Auto Express a lot of slack, but to me they’re the Star / US Weekly of car magazines – any sort of spy shot, speculation or gossip is good enough to make a story out of. And if there isn’t a good picture to go with the story, they will come up with their own, and more often then not they are wide off the mark (for curiously accurate chops & illustrations go to Auto Bild’s Huckfeldt; many believe he must have good insider info, so accurate are his predictions).
That having said, even a blind man occasionally stumbles onto the right path, and so it feels with this chop of the upcoming A5. This chop looks very close to the prototype whose numerous spyshots we’ve already seen, and is probably closest of all chops to the finished article. Only time will tell.
P.S. I don’t like the line running from the front bumper over the wheels, reminds me of the previous gen Fabia and the Bentley Continental GT; those two shared a designer, Dirk van Braeckel, but to my knowledge he was not involved with this project
