New Cars: ugly ugly Highlander
We'll start from the good things, because there is far fewer of them. The interior is really nice, I like the Lexus-esque design, deep dials and light wood. Of course that such dials have no place on a truck is just my opinion, and I am sure most customers will be delighted at this "sporty" accent.
And now for the bad, but the problem is I don't even know where to start, because the whole exterior is a mess. How about with the new Toyota Truck corporate face, which looks fine on a the butch Tundra but here contrasts painfully with the smooth surfacing. Then we have the confused surfacing, such as the lines running over the front and back fenders. The rear looks too wide like that of a Ford Country Squire circa 1982, with Auris (the new Corolla hatch) lights grafted onto it. Oh, and the detailing tops it all, such as the flimsy front fog lights, tiny rear reflectors which would not be out of place on a 1960s sedan and the sad sad excuse for a fake mudguard at the back.
Seriously, who signed this off?
